Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at LIFELONG LEARNING ADMINISTRATION CO. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing personalized instruction and support to students with exceptional needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in a personalized learning environment
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure seamless integration of special education services
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and progress
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to ensure effective collaboration and support
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and research-based interventions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid Ohio teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education
  • English Language and Autism authorizations
  • Eligibility to obtain a teaching permit or teaching internship
  • Prior experience working with exceptional learners strongly recommended
  • Demonstrated initiative and understanding in working with students, parents/guardians, teachers, and staff
  • Proficient level of skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other educational technology applications
Working Conditions
  • Mental demands: medium workflow management, medium project coordination, high people engagement
  • Finger dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together
  • Talking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly
  • Average hearing: able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
  • Average visual abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, operate office equipment or machinery
  • Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Working in a low to moderate noise environment with frequent deadline pressures
