Job Description

Job Summary: As an Assistant General Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day food service operation of a medium to large volume location. You will manage and lead a team of associates and oversee quality controls for the account.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the food offered to clients, customers, and employees of the operation is of superior quality.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with associates, guests, and clients as well as other departments within the operation.
  • Recruit and train team members in our standards and procedures.
  • Work with the location leadership team to drive improvements in guest satisfaction and financial results.
  • Implement and communicate promotions.
  • Oversee loss prevention activities, including managing cash drops/collection and completing cash variance logs.
  • Conduct progressive coaching with team members.
  • Assist with completion of monthly financial reporting and action planning.
  • Ensure regular maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of all restaurant areas and equipment.
  • Follow Responsible Service of Alcohol protocols and complete alcohol incident logs.
  • Oversee service standards during events to ensure a high level of the guest experience.
  • Manage and resolve guest complaints.
  • Manage team member incidents/accidents and follow required reporting procedures.
  • Conduct monthly safety training for team members.
  • Manage team member scheduling in line with demand forecasts.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years of food service management experience.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
  • Comprehensive food knowledge.
  • Operations management experience with purchasing knowledge.
  • Financial experience and business acumen skills.
  • ServSafe Food Certification, ServSafe Alcohol Certification, and/or Title IV may be required.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
  • Associate's degree is preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Some sedentary work including sitting in office at computer.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent ascending/descending stairs.
