About the Role:

The Lead Patient Access Coordinator is a key member of our team at Suburban Community Hospital, responsible for ensuring a smooth patient flow, quality registration, and maximum Point of Service patient collections. This role requires exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as demonstrated leadership and management abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate break and lunch times to ensure coverage needs are met and applicable employees receive a lunch break.
  • Assist Supervisor in managing fluctuations in volume by requesting reinforcements if volumes are high and flexing staff if volume is low to meet productivity expectations.
  • Take the lead in assuring compliance and completion of all daily duties within the department.
  • Set the example in exemplary customer service and overall conduct, relating well to patients, visitors, physicians, other departments, management, and employees.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Extensive knowledge of Patient Access required, Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities.
  • Extremely high degree of attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple demands and function well under pressure.
