Emergency Department Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team at UNC Lenoir Health Care. As a key member of our ED team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care services, including performing EKGs and phlebotomy as needed.
- Conduct interpersonal relationships in a manner to project a positive image of the department and hospital.
- Ensure that contacts with other health care members are friendly, helpful, and courteous.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of North Carolina Board of Nursing approved Nursing Assistant II course.
- Certified by the State Board of Nursing as a NA II, and BLS certification.
Work Environment:
Exposure to bloodborne pathogens requiring the use of protective equipment; exposure to other infectious diseases. Exposure to chemicals utilized to clean and disinfect equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Working and standing throughout the shift. Lifting, pulling, turning, and pushing patients daily.
