Pharmacy Technician

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department. Your primary responsibility will be to assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under their direct supervision. This includes tasks such as retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions. You will also be responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash registers, collecting and handling cash as required, and taking customers to the OTC aisle to assist in locating products. Additionally, you will handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians. If PTCB or ExCPT certified, you will assist with and coach pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cashiers in the operation of the pharmacy cash registers.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under their direct supervision

Take customers to the OTC aisle to assist in locating products

Requirements:
Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment
Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens
Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
Prefer good computer skills
Prefer knowledge of store inventory control
Prefer PTCB or ExCPT certification
