Labcorp is seeking a skilled Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist to join their team in Madison, Wisconsin. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in advancing the field of veterinary medicine through cutting-edge research and diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct microscopic evaluations and interpretations of tissue sections from animals exposed to test materials, correlating findings with necropsy, organ weight, and clinical pathology data.
  • Author comprehensive pathology reports, meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy and compliance with protocols and SOPs.
  • Supervise necropsies and provide scientific guidance to necropsy technicians to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Communicate pathologic findings to study directors, clients, and other individuals, providing expert scientific guidance.
  • Participate in histopathology consultations and peer reviews with other pathologists.
  • Attend pre-initiation and/or pre-necropsy meetings, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Perform internal peer reviews of in-house toxicology reports, including interpretations of Anatomic Pathology data.
  • Take photomicrographs of tissues/lesions as directed by protocol or client request for inclusion in reports, consultations, and/or submission to regulatory agencies.
  • Provide diagnostic support to the Department of Laboratory Animal Medicine in their disease surveillance programs.
  • Participate in process improvement projects, driving innovation and excellence in our laboratory.
  • Attend scientific meetings and continuing education seminars, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary pathology.
  • Author scientific manuscripts and present findings at conferences, sharing expertise with the scientific community.
Requirements:
  • DVM/VMD degree or equivalent.
  • Formal pathology residency or graduate studies (MS, PhD) at an institution with a primary focus on veterinary pathologist training.
  • Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists or European College of Veterinary Pathologists.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in toxicologic pathology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
Special Considerations:
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends as required or defined by the duty roster.
  • Must be able to sit at a microscope for extended periods.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods for necropsy supervision.
