Position Summary:

With minimal supervision, you will be an integral member of the purchasing team, ensuring a consistent flow of materials throughout the facility. Your role will involve sourcing goods and supplies from vendors at the most competitive prices while maintaining quality, reliability, and urgency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and cultivate new supply sources to enhance pricing, delivery, or quality, particularly when existing vendors fall short.
  • Negotiate contracts and establish strategic, long-term supply agreements.
  • Research and develop alternative suppliers by identifying and evaluating potential vendors.
  • Plan material requirements and coordinate the flow of materials to align with production schedules and kitting needs.
  • Prepare, analyze, and update daily procurement reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, sales, quality assurance, and customer support to guarantee timely material delivery.
  • Assess bids for both standard and non-standard items.
  • Select suppliers for various technical materials, supplies, or services while negotiating price, delivery, quality, and service terms.
  • Manage change requests through proactive communication with suppliers and prioritize workflows to meet critical demands.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to junior purchasing staff.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of purchasing processes is essential.
  • Proven negotiation skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; attention to detail is crucial.
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive under tight deadlines.
  • Capable of effectively prioritizing tasks and managing multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or related fields is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in procuring electronic components within a manufacturing context is required.

Language Proficiency:

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with all internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in software tools such as Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of ISO quality, environmental, and safety standards is advantageous.
