Compensation: $26.00 per hour

Position Summary:

United Employment Solutions is on the lookout for a meticulous and skilled Payroll Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and processing of employee payroll, compiling payroll data, and ensuring all records are accurately maintained within specified timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee payroll information and documentation by managing the collection, calculation, and data entry processes.
  • Update payroll records by reviewing and rectifying changes in pay rates, hours worked, deductions, job titles, and departmental transfers.
  • Coordinate the generation and distribution of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
  • Validate the computation of federal and state income taxes, social security taxes, unemployment, and workers' compensation payments.
  • Safeguard employee confidentiality and protect payroll operations by maintaining strict confidentiality of information.
  • Assist in the initiation and conclusion of payroll weeks, including preparing reports for record retention.
  • Manage the funding of invoices and submit all processed invoices to clients.
  • Reissue voided or incorrect checks as necessary.
  • Track records of paid time off, loans, and other related matters.
  • Communicate with branches to resolve payroll discrepancies such as missing employees, hours, and incorrect pay rates.
  • Generate invoices, process checks, and deliver checks to clients as required.
  • Input payroll data into systems and conduct audits of payroll entries.
  • Sort and organize checks by client and prepare them for distribution.
  • Respond to all staff and client inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Prepare payroll reports for record-keeping purposes.
  • Generate invoice registers for funding on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Conduct weekly collection activities.
  • Follow established procedures for reporting work-related injuries or illnesses.
  • Address unemployment claims and garnishments as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED (College degree preferred or relevant experience equivalent)
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Excel and Word
  • Previous payroll experience is essential
  • Familiarity with compensation and wage & hour regulations
  • Strong organizational and reporting capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
  • Ability to communicate in English (required); Spanish is a plus but not mandatory
