Position Overview:

The Engineering Process Specialist will oversee a dedicated team responsible for the enhancement of repair methodologies and documentation. This team comprises two technical writers and one quality engineer, all focused on interpreting complex technical data and converting it into comprehensive work instructions for production mechanics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret technical manuals and data to formulate effective methods for the repair and refurbishment of intricate aircraft engine components.
  • Establish processes, operational sequences, dimensions, and tolerances, and subsequently develop and revise work instructions and routing documents.
  • Deliver essential training to the production workforce regarding new and revised processes.
  • Assess and refine repair methodologies to enhance process efficiency and production capacity while ensuring product quality is maintained or improved.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects in accordance with established schedules.
  • Take a proactive role in problem-solving initiatives, determining suitable actions, and implementing corrective measures.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication with various departments, including Engineering, Quality, and Operations.
  • Lead the Process Plan Overhaul Team in revising Repair Processes and transitioning to advanced systems.
  • Engage with the production workforce to gather insights for repair process planning and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production-oriented engineering role.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
  • Knowledge of Military, DOD, and Aerospace Standards and Requirements.
  • Experience in translating technical specifications into operator-level work instructions.
