We are a global law firm with a powerful strategic focus and real momentum, seeking a registered Patent Agent with a Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or a related technical field involving AI/ML to join our Patents practice.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have experience liaising with clients to develop and manage portfolios, drafting and prosecuting patent applications, collaborating with inventors to understand new AI technologies and assess their patentability, conducting and analyzing the results of prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses, and maintaining knowledge of the latest AI technology and patent laws.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting and analyzing the results of prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses
  • Maintaining knowledge of the latest AI technology and patent laws
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience with AI models, neural networks, and deep learning
  • Experience with AI/ML theory - backpropagation, regularization, optimization
  • Experience with preprocessing data, selecting features, training/tuning models, and deploying models to production environments
  • Domain experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields
  • Registration to practice with the USPTO
  • Attorney candidates should be an active member and in good standing of their home office bar or eligible to waive into the appropriate bar
Compensation

The full-time base annual salary for this position is expected to range between $180,000 and $250,000, depending on the location. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.

Location

The position may be located in any of our US offices, including Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, San Antonio, San Francisco, St. Louis, or Washington, DC.
