Role Summary

As a Cloud FinOps Optimization Specialist at Quantiphi, you will drive cloud optimization and empower application teams to realize business value. You will discover cost-saving and optimization opportunities and actively collaborate with the application teams to support execution. You will implement strategies like rightsizing, auto-scaling, storage optimization, cost anomalies, etc., and manage cloud costs effectively to provide stakeholders with the information to make value-driven decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive cloud optimization and empower application teams to realize business value.
  • Discover cost-saving and optimization opportunities and actively collaborate with the application teams to support execution.
  • Implement strategies like rightsizing, auto-scaling, storage optimization, cost anomalies, etc.
  • Manage cloud costs effectively and provide stakeholders with the information to make value-driven decisions.
  • Ensure that cost management practices are well-understood and implemented.
  • Use Cloudability to create and provide continuous cost transparency to application owners.
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration to implement cost-effective architectural patterns, review resource usage patterns, and iterate on optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate with finance, technology, and business teams to mature FinOps governance processes including embedding FinOps functions into existing governance and architectural review processes.
  • Automate cloud cost management processes using scripting and other methodologies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in cost management in a GCP environment.
  • Solid knowledge of AI services (GCP and Azure)
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud services, architecture, and cost mechanics (compute, containers, databases, serverless, storage, licensing, amortizations, etc.)
  • Effective communicator, both orally and in writing, with an executive presence
  • Demonstrate ability to ask well-crafted questions and present ideas in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in an agile work environment with qualities such as collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Experience with on-prem or cloud data and AI/ML technologies and solution.
  • Passion for Cloud, FinOps, and maximizing Cloud value for end users.
  • Certified FinOps Practitioner or Certified FinOps Engineer.
