Job Overview

Siza-Buso Consulting is seeking a qualified Controls Engineer to contribute to our innovative projects. This role entails overseeing electrical and control engineering tasks for extensive initiatives. Responsibilities include the design of control systems from the ground up, which encompasses hardware, software, and network components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical panels and perform power calculations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and select appropriate components for projects.
  • Program control systems and oversee their installation and commissioning.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required. Degrees in related fields may be considered if relevant experience is demonstrated.
  • A minimum of 5 years of applicable experience is necessary.
  • Familiarity with ASTM standards and safety engineering within the attractions sector is preferred.
  • Proficiency in drafting software, particularly AutoCAD, is advantageous.
  • Understanding of contract documents and specifications, with the ability to gather and document field data accurately.
  • Capability to perform essential system design calculations, including short circuit protection and load flow analysis.
  • Experience with ride system design for guest attractions is a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Experience with major industrial hardware/software platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) is required.
  • Familiarity with ethernet-based distributed remote I/O systems is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities are necessary for collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time is expected.
  • Regular presence at client locations is required.
