The Job: Electrical Controls Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical control systems for large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design electrical control systems from scratch, including hardware, software, and network components.
  • Develop electrical panel designs and perform power calculations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and select components for control systems.
  • Program and install control systems, ensuring compliance with local and government agency codes.
  • Manage vendor scope and verify safety, functionality, and contract requirements.
  • Develop technical risk assessment documents and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Design and analyze safety-critical components within control systems.
  • Develop redundant mitigations to increase safety and reliability.
  • Design systems with complex motion and integration from automated systems.
  • Develop documents of system configuration and design, including operation descriptions, control system design descriptions, panel assembly drawings, and schematics.
  • Perform system design calculations and analysis, including short circuit protection, harmonics, noise reduction, power consumption, load flow, and protective relay design.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical controls engineering, preferably in the attractions industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ASTM standards and safety engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
Working Conditions:

Expected to be on client location 5 days a week. Standard office environment with frequent PC usage, copy machines, and phones.
