Position Overview

0.9 FTE - Day Shifts

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification (specific to certain clinic and hospital locations)
  • Preferred: Minimum of one year of nursing experience

Key Responsibilities:

Cardiology Nursing Duties:

  • Administer medications for diagnostic cardiac evaluations, including but not limited to: Pharmacological Stress Tests, Cardioversions, and Trans-Esophageal Echocardiograms
  • Assist Cardiologists with outpatient Cardiology services
  • Educate patients regarding cardiovascular health
  • Inform patients about preventative strategies
  • Support assessment and treatment of cardiovascular incidents
  • Assist in conducting diagnostic tests such as ECGs, Holter/Event Monitors, and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors
  • Respond to Rapid Response Team calls within the facility
  • Travel to outreach clinics to deliver Cardiology services

Professional Nursing Practice Includes:

  • Conducting comprehensive health assessments through data collection, analysis, and synthesis to establish a baseline health status and care plan, while addressing any changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to create and coordinate an integrated care plan.
  • Developing nursing interventions to be included in the care plan.
  • Executing nursing care through independent nursing actions.
  • Implementing interventions as delegated, ordered, or prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider.
  • Delegating nursing tasks or assigning nursing activities to carry out the care plan.
  • Providing safe and effective nursing care.
  • Promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Advocating for the best interests of patients.
  • Evaluating responses to interventions and the effectiveness of the care plan.
  • Coordinating with other healthcare professionals in managing and implementing care across various settings and communities.
  • Delivering health promotion, disease prevention, care coordination, and case finding.
  • Designing and implementing educational plans based on patient needs and assessing the effectiveness of teaching.
  • Participating in the formulation of healthcare policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Accountable for the quality of care provided, recognizing the limits of knowledge and experience, and addressing situations beyond the nurse's competency.
  • Managing, supervising, and evaluating nursing practice.
  • Maintaining organizational and nursing competencies relevant to the area of practice.
  • Handling information in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
