Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited nursing program
- Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification (specific to certain clinic and hospital locations)
- Preferred: Minimum of one year of nursing experience
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities related to Cardiology Nursing include:
- Administering medications for diagnostic cardiac procedures such as Pharmacological Stress Tests, Cardioversions, and Trans-Esophageal Echocardiograms
- Assisting Cardiologists with outpatient Cardiology services
- Educating patients regarding cardiovascular health
- Informing patients about preventative health measures
- Assessing and managing cardiovascular events
- Assisting in diagnostic tests including ECGs, Holter/Event Monitors, and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors
- Responding to Rapid Response Team calls within the facility
- Traveling to outreach clinics to deliver Cardiology services
The practice of Professional Nursing encompasses:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of patient health through data collection and analysis to establish a baseline and care plan, while addressing any changes in patient condition.
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to create and coordinate an integrated care plan.
- Developing nursing interventions that align with the care plan.
- Executing nursing care through independent actions and delegated tasks.
- Providing safe and effective nursing care while promoting a therapeutic environment.
- Advocating for the best interests of patients.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and care plans.
- Coordinating with other healthcare professionals in managing and implementing care across various settings.
- Engaging in health promotion, disease prevention, and care coordination.
- Designing and implementing educational plans tailored to patient needs.
- Participating in the development of healthcare policies and procedures.
- Maintaining accountability for the quality of care delivered, recognizing personal limits, and performing at the expected level of nursing education and competency.
- Supervising and evaluating nursing practice.
- Ensuring compliance with organizational and nursing competencies relevant to the practice area.
- Managing information in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
