Position Overview

Work Schedule: PRN - Day Shifts

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification: Must possess either Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist credentials from the American College of Sports Medicine.
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
  • Expertise: Proficient in exercise stress testing, EKG interpretation, educational program facilitation, and exercise prescription tailored for clinical patients.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities are essential.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide staffing support for both scheduled and unscheduled absences within the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation team.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of exercise treatments, recommending adjustments to clinicians as necessary.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients during cardiopulmonary exercise sessions.
  • Treat patients and their families with utmost respect and dignity, addressing their psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs.
  • Engage professionally with patients and families, involving them in the development of their care plans.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, clinicians, and administrative personnel.
  • Ensure accurate and timely patient billing in accordance with departmental policies and current procedural terminology.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of exercise physiology, exercise prescription, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation practices.
  • Safely and correctly operate all relevant equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the department.
  • Participate actively in departmental and organizational quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in all required training programs related to infection control, equipment handling, organizational safety, and fire safety.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and organizational skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Foster positive working relationships within the department and across other departments.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed to enhance patient care and education.
  • Adhere strictly to departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Fulfill continuing education requirements to stay current in the field.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Report to work punctually and complete tasks within designated timeframes.
  • Attend annual reviews and departmental meetings as scheduled.
  • Represent Olmsted Medical Center-MAIN in a professional and positive manner.
  • Stay informed on exercise physiology interventions through scientific literature and continuing education opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
