About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Chumash Enterprises. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing the operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest quality of food and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Inventory Management: Oversee the preparation of food and inventory levels of the kitchen, ensuring that all products are properly ordered, received, and stored.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, develop, empower, coach, counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communication vehicles, discipline, and recommend terminations as appropriate.
  • Quality Control: Inspect equipment before and after use, ensuring they are clean and in proper working order. Maintain cleanliness of workstation, kitchen area, and walk-in coolers and freezers.
  • Customer Service: Expedite guest orders to produce meals in a timely, safe, and accurate fashion. Respond appropriately to special requests or dietary needs.
  • Menu Management: Maintain in-depth knowledge of current menus and work to ensure overproduction and waste is at a minimum.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED Certificate. Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Experience: Three years of prior experience as a high-volume Sous Chef.
  • Skills: Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet. Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
