Job Description

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the store, ensuring the execution of organizational objectives, and achieving store and profit goals. This role involves managing controllable expenses, optimizing revenue streams, and leading a high-performing team to maximize store profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the management team to achieve store and profit goals, ensuring the execution of organizational objectives.
  • Manage financial plans for the store, reviewing and interpreting financial reports to take appropriate action to achieve goals.
  • Analyze income statements and utilize reports to ensure store profitability, managing inventory to maximize sales and control costs.
  • Ensure conditions across the store meet or exceed standards for safety, service, and operational efficiency, adhering to work designs and implementing improvement actions.
  • Lead change initiatives, champion programs, and educate associates on the reason and need for change, ensuring programs are executed according to design.
  • Ensure a positive shopping experience for all customers, responding to customer complaints or inquiries, and soliciting customer feedback.
  • Responsible for staffing the store appropriately to cover customer and business demands, proactively identifying hiring needs and sharing responsibilities for interviewing candidates.
  • Allocate resources, prioritize, and delegate work, effectively managing time through efficient scheduling and usage of labor hours.
  • Create and sustain an inclusive store atmosphere, valuing store associates through celebration and recognition, and supporting the development of associates and store management team.
  • Build relationships with community partners to connect the store with its community, leveraging tools, resources, and information throughout the organization.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Experience leading, selecting, training, performance management of staff, sales building, labor allocation & scheduling, managing expenses.
  • Experience effectively implementing change and demonstrated results in execution.
  • Experienced in all areas of store operations, including food service.
  • Flexible availability which may include all shifts, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced retail, food service, or fuel environment preferred.
  • Serve Safe Certification.
  • Proven and consistently demonstrated skills in the following:
