Job Summary

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Liaison to facilitate the inpatient admission process for patients seeking rehabilitation services at MedStar National Rehabilitation Network (MNRN). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless transitions between referral sources and our network of rehabilitation facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough on-site and record/telephone evaluations to determine patient appropriateness for inpatient acute rehabilitation programs.
  2. Collaborate with referring healthcare teams, patients, and families to educate them on the benefits and services offered by MNRN.
  3. Prepare and submit marketing reports, maintaining accurate statistics and data for our network.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  5. Participate in service area activities, Quality Improvement projects, and MNRN program steering committees.
  6. Provide feedback on patient progress to referral sources as requested.
  7. Ensure confidentiality and maintain high ethical standards in all interactions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree as an RN, with relevant work experience in lieu of education considered.
  • 1-2 years of RN experience, with allied health experience preferred.
  • A current RN license issued by the state, with DC license obtainable within 90 days of employment.
  • Excellent physical assessment and patient/family education skills.
  • A professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, families, staff, and external parties.
