Job Overview

RIG Consulting Inc. is actively looking for skilled Transportation Engineering Technicians (TET) to join our team for ongoing highway and bridge projects across various locations. This role is integral to our operations involving state highway administration and related construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting daily inspections to ensure compliance with SHA standards and specifications regarding materials and construction methods.
  • Reviewing inspection drawings.
  • Documenting daily activities and maintaining accurate project records.
  • Organizing and managing project documentation and files.

Essential Functions:

  • Traveling across diverse terrains for site inspections.
  • Effectively communicating in written and spoken forms.
  • Utilizing electronic devices and various software systems for information management.
  • Safely navigating around active traffic and construction equipment.
  • Responding promptly to hazard warning devices.
  • Using required personal protective equipment and ensuring its proper maintenance.
  • Performing physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, as well as various movements including bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Enduring periods of significant physical exertion.
  • Traveling to various inspection sites as needed.
  • Withstanding exposure to outdoor elements, noise, and other environmental factors.
  • Working extended hours as required, including being on call outside of standard business hours.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in MDOT, highway, or related transportation construction is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.

Preferred Certifications:

  • MARTCP certification in bituminous and concrete.
  • ACI certification.
  • NICET certification in Highway Construction is preferred.
  • Resumes should include detailed work histories, certification numbers, and expiration dates.
