Role Summary:

As a Senior Engineer, you will play a crucial role within the engineering team, focusing on product support and application architecture insights. Your problem-solving abilities will be essential in addressing operational challenges, and you will demonstrate your expertise by resolving engineering issues independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your technical knowledge to stay updated on current and emerging technologies relevant to your specialization.
  • Assess new technologies and contribute to decision-making processes, considering factors such as feasibility, maintainability, and ownership costs.
  • Lead research initiatives and proof-of-concept projects for innovative technologies.
  • Oversee the design and lifecycle management of services, ensuring alignment with architectural and operational standards.
  • Participate in construction, automation, and implementation activities, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members in resolving complex technical challenges.

Specific Expectations:

  • Manage the maintenance of critical building systems, including mechanical, electrical, fire safety, and digital systems.
  • Oversee lifecycle and modernization projects from inception to completion, including budgeting and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards in all data center operations.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and policies governing data center activities.
  • Act as an escalation point for critical incidents as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Propose enhancements to improve safety, efficiency, and service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in critical MEP system operations and maintenance.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of technological advancements.
  • Strong understanding of Target's technology landscape and competitive products.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both internal teams and external partners.
  • Knowledge of best practices, standards, and policies relevant to the role.
  • Proficiency in core development platforms within your area of expertise.
  • Foster a strong team commitment to corporate and team objectives.
  • Awareness of how your work impacts the team and overall guest experience.
