Your Responsibilities:
Baxter Healthcare International is a leader in the medical products industry, and we are seeking a Senior Controls Systems Engineer to join our dynamic product development team. This role involves:
  • Designing and implementing advanced control systems for electro-mechanical medical devices.
  • Utilizing modern model-based design methodologies, including rapid prototyping and hardware/software integration.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Reviewing and approving design concepts, providing guidance to technical staff, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Key Activities Include:

- Employing model-based design tools to create embedded closed-loop control systems for devices such as pumps and sensors.

- Developing logic diagrams and setting thresholds for alarm conditions.

- Writing requirements and conducting verification tests to validate designs.

- Coordinating development tasks and managing project schedules, risks, and dependencies.

- Engaging in systems engineering activities across various product lifecycle stages.

- Understanding clinical needs and translating them into effective product solutions.

- Leading feasibility studies and crafting innovative design concepts to meet customer needs.

- Addressing technical challenges using analytical problem-solving techniques.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Controls, Systems, Software, or a related engineering field.

- A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience.

- Proven expertise in designing modern control systems for embedded devices.

- Proficiency in MATLAB model-based design tools, particularly Simulink and Stateflow.

- Strong knowledge of control theory and systems engineering principles.

- Experience in developing electromechanical systems, preferably in regulated environments.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively within global, cross-functional teams.

Compensation:

We value transparency in our compensation practices. The estimated base salary for this position ranges from $104,000.00 to $143,000.00 annually, subject to various factors including location and experience.
