Position Overview:
- The Electrical Engineer plays a vital role in the design, testing, and deployment of sophisticated military technology.
- Key responsibilities include researching, planning, designing, and enhancing electronic and electrical systems and components. This involves utilizing advanced modeling and analytical tools to create product specifications, models, simulations, technical documentation, and integration and verification protocols.
- Assessment of vendor capabilities, technologies, and services is essential to ensure they meet the required standards for product delivery.
- The successful candidate will collaborate under the guidance of a project engineering lead to execute electrical system designs across various military applications, including combat vehicles, artillery systems, and guided munitions.
- Comprehensive engineering analysis of components, subsystems, and systems for military applications will be a critical aspect of this role.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or 2 years with a Master’s degree.
- Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
- Experience in producing technical documentation, including drawings, reports, and technical evaluations.
- Capability to address moderately complex technical design and development challenges requiring advanced engineering knowledge.
- Familiarity with creating, interpreting, and understanding schematics and interconnect diagrams.
- Ability to develop and manage interface control documents.
- Experience in circuit simulation tools such as PSpice or LTspice.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey data, information, and technical results.
- US citizenship is mandatory.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the engineering design of wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for military applications.
- Knowledge of integrating Field Programmable Gate Arrays and developing electronic control logic.
- Experience in power generation, conversion, and storage solutions.
- Familiarity with the development and integration of ammunition handling and loading systems.
- Understanding of relevant military and commercial design standards.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, and LabVIEW.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C#, and LabWindows/CVI.
- Working knowledge of OrCAD and Visio for circuit board schematic and layout design.
- Awareness of design considerations for components in high EMI environments.
- Systems engineering and manufacturing expertise.
- Understanding of rechargeable batteries and battery management systems.
