LOCATION: Onsite in designated locations

DURATION: Contract to Hire

MAX RATE: $59.93/hr W2 (no health benefits while on contract)

SCHEDULE: 9/80 (Every other Friday off)

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading or assisting in the development and management of requirements.
  • Creating and overseeing subsystem and component performance specifications through analysis and derivation of essential requirements.
  • Establishing and maintaining requirements verification and compliance, along with supporting documentation.
  • Conducting requirements decomposition analysis to guide concept architectures and system characteristics.
  • Facilitating architecture development for assigned systems, subsystems, and components.
  • Managing the development and upkeep of interface requirements and design information for assigned systems and components.
  • Documenting concept design decisions and aiding in the generation of System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs) and capability assessments.
  • Coordinating and facilitating formal decisions and trade studies to influence design and document outcomes.
  • Assisting in the execution and monitoring of cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Coordinating Systems Engineering activities to impact design decisions.
  • Supporting vehicle-level Systems Engineering tasks and program milestone evaluations.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficiency with DOORS requirements management tool.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in systems engineering, particularly in requirements analysis, derivation, and allocation, translating requirements into viable design solutions within set constraints.
  • Experience in developing architectural concepts and assessing alternatives.
  • Ability to balance system design considering operational concepts (CONOPS), performance, constraints, and logistical considerations.
  • Capability to plan, conduct, and document complex trade studies.
  • Ability to produce System/Subsystem Design Descriptions and capability assessments in accordance with program specifications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Electrical Engineering, with a Master's degree in Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with military vehicle systems.
  • Experience in logical architecture, including use case development.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including SysML methodology and tools like Cameo.
  • Knowledge of the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
  • Possession of INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
  • Experience in mentoring and leading junior engineers.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Support in requirements development and management.
  • Experience with DOORS requirements management tool.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
