Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care by executing a range of delegated basic patient care tasks. Collaborating with the Registered Nurse (RN) and other members of the healthcare team, the LPN provides tailored, comprehensive care in alignment with the standards and scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer direct, evidence-based care to patients as directed by the physician or RN.
  • Assist with medical procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as instructed.
  • Conduct laboratory and procedural tests within the LPN scope of practice, following competency validation.
  • Document care administration in the patient medical record promptly and accurately.
  • Act as a resource for department staff, students, and volunteers to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
