Job Responsibilities and Qualifications
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers high-quality, patient-focused care by performing various delegated basic patient care tasks. Collaborating with the RN and other healthcare team members, the LPN provides tailored, comprehensive care in line with established standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, evidence-based care to patients as directed by the physician or RN.
- Assist with medical procedures and monitoring as required.
- Conduct lab tests and procedures within the LPN scope of practice after demonstrating competency.
- Document care provided in the patient medical record accurately and promptly.
- Act as a resource for department staff, students, and volunteers to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
