Role Summary and Qualifications

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care by performing a range of delegated basic patient care tasks. Working closely with Registered Nurses and other healthcare team members, the LPN provides tailored, comprehensive care that aligns with established standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, evidence-based care to patients as directed by the supervising physician or RN.
  • Assist with medical procedures, monitoring, and other tasks as required.
  • Conduct lab tests and procedures within the LPN scope of practice after demonstrating proficiency.
  • Accurately document care provided in the patient medical record in a timely manner.
  • Act as a resource for department staff, students, and volunteers to ensure quality patient care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
