Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations to lead the effective operation and maintenance of our natural gas-fired combined cycle combustion turbine generating facilities, aero derivative peaking generating facilities, and Seminole Solar facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power plant operations, management, and safety, with a proven track record of ensuring the safe and economical operation of facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct a team of operations personnel to ensure the safe and economical operation of facilities.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance programs to maximize plant availability and service life.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to staff, train, and develop a strong and effective team.
  • Oversee and monitor plant performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors, management, and union leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including OSHA, environmental, and reliability standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in power plant maintenance and operations, with 7 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of combined cycle combustion turbine plants, aero derivative peaking facilities, and solar facilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with some travel and work outside of normal business hours. The position requires the ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolds, and to wear personal protective equipment as required.
