**Job Summary**

The Food Service Area Manager is a key leadership role that oversees the execution of food service operations across various locations. This position is responsible for ensuring consistency in food service delivery, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Food Service Category Manager, Food Service Brand Manager, and operations teams to understand current and upcoming projects and programs.
  • Ensure consistency in the execution of the Cravin's To Order brand across all locations.
  • Assist the Cravin's To Order Brand Manager with inventory and waste management at all food service locations.
  • Monitor and follow up on Shift Duty Checklists completed by FS Specialists, communicating any concerns to the store manager.
  • Support newly hired graduates of food service training to ensure their comfort and knowledge of food service safety and recipe integrity.
  • Verify that cleanliness and sanitation duties outlined in the Shift Duty Checklists and Weekly Duty Checklists are completed at all food service locations.
  • Standardize procedures across all locations, ensuring that stores do not develop non-universal solutions or procedures.
  • Ensure that equipment maintenance and operation of all refrigeration, ovens, and POS equipment are operable, reporting any concerns.
  • Verify daily that all line checks are completed, ensuring the freshest quality products are served.
  • Ensure product rotation, organization, and correct labeling of products are practiced.
  • Validate the accuracy of the daily prep sheet and order guide, providing feedback to the FS specialist and store manager.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of all food service equipment, anticipating potential problems and understanding periodic maintenance requirements to avoid equipment downtime.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the menu and build enthusiasm about menu items with teams and customers.
  • Coach and hold accountability of others to prepare food orders accurately and to specification, ensuring recipe integrity.
  • Understand and adhere to proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards during food preparation, service, and clean up.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, standards, and specifications for all food being prepared.
  • Assist with food service training as assigned in the Valparaiso or Lafayette Training Centers.
  • Support special events inside and outside the organization.
  • Build relationships and promote the Living Brand, serving as a Product Brand Advocate.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for prolonged periods, work longer than eight (8) hour shifts, reach, climb, balance, stoop, mop, sweep, change garbage, kneel, crouch; talk and hear; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Work environment: Must have flexibility to work all shifts, all days of the week, when necessary. Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures for minimum of 30-minute intervals. Exposure to cleaning solvents.
