Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Librarian to join our team at San Jacinto College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing reference services, staying up-to-date with trends in instructional technologies, and contributing to the development and curation of digital resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide reference services to students, faculty, and staff, both in-person and online.
  • Stay current with trends in instructional technologies, research support tools, and online publishing and scholarship.
  • Contribute to the development and curation of digital resources to support the College's instructional programs.
  • Work closely with faculty, other librarians, and staff to select and incorporate digital resources into instruction.
  • Support the Libraries' contributions to student success initiatives, with a focus on open educational resources and affordable course materials.
  • Provide bibliographic instruction and perform collection development.
  • Liaise with campus departments to determine materials needed to support curriculum.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an American Library Association-accredited program.
  • Reference experience, preferably in an academic library.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of reference work.

This is a physical presence position that requires working on-site at the assigned location with limited opportunity for remote work arrangements.

Salary Grade: 116

Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year.
