Position Overview
You will assume the role of Protocol Officer within the Secretary of the Navy's Office, entrusted with the comprehensive management of all protocol, conference, visit, and special event-related activities.

Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:

  • Directing and overseeing the planning and execution of all arrangements for SECNAV's social and official functions.
  • Ensuring that each visitor receives the utmost level of official recognition, with presentations and tours tailored to their security clearance.
  • Analyzing and evaluating significant changes in current events, along with their potential impacts, advantages, and political ramifications, to provide informed advice.

Employment Conditions
To qualify for this position, candidates must:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Meet suitability requirements for federal employment.
  • Participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, including:

  • Experience in directing and overseeing arrangements for command social and official functions, including visits and conferences.
  • Experience in developing comprehensive guidance and policies governing the planning and execution of visits and events.
  • Experience in engaging with individuals from professional organizations, congressional offices, and senior government officials.
