The Opportunity

We are seeking highly skilled Independent Contractors to join our team as Audio Visual Technicians. As an AV Technician, you will be responsible for setting up and operating media equipment for live events, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Coordination: Collaborate with Event Coordinators to discuss audio, lighting, video, and scenic requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of the event's technical needs.
  • Equipment Setup and Installation: Set up and install microphones, lights, video monitors, projectors, speakers, and video cameras, ensuring all equipment is properly configured and functioning as expected.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify any potential issues.
  • Event Execution: Operate sound and visual equipment during live events, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for attendees.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot equipment issues and take prompt action to resolve them, minimizing downtime and ensuring events run smoothly.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to clients and venue staff, responding promptly to their needs and concerns.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, adapting to new situations and challenges as they arise.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Protect company equipment as if it were your own, reporting any damages or issues to the relevant personnel.
  • Post-Event Procedures: Disassemble audio and visual equipment and pack up after the event, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and secured.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience working as an AV technician, with a strong understanding of audio-visual equipment and systems.
  • Excellent Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Physical Fitness: High level of physical fitness, with the ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, venue staff, and other labor support professionals.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, with a flexible and adaptable approach to new situations and challenges.
  • Continuing Education: A teachable disposition and a willingness to continue learning and developing new skills.
