Fleet Operations Supervisor

Job Overview

MV Transportation is in search of a Fleet Operations Supervisor who will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily maintenance operations of our bus fleet. This position requires a proactive and organized individual who can manage various maintenance tasks while ensuring compliance with all operational standards.



Key Responsibilities

The Fleet Operations Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Supervising maintenance staff and ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Preparing and analyzing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance reports.
  • Managing the budget for the maintenance program effectively.
  • Ensuring all contractual obligations are met in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating with clients and maintaining strong professional relationships.
  • Overseeing inventory management for parts, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Prioritizing and scheduling maintenance tasks and projects.
  • Handling the financial aspects of fleet maintenance operations.
  • Communicating effectively with team members at all levels.
  • Utilizing computer software for documentation and reporting purposes.
  • Maintaining technical knowledge of vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.


Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on mechanic experience.
  • At least three (3) years of supervisory experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Certification from Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) for Transit Bus (H series).
  • ASE certification for Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicles (L3) is preferred.
  • A valid Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Medical Card.
  • Experience in passenger transportation or a similar field is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage and interface with clients effectively.
  • Proficient in tracking and controlling parts inventories.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage work schedules and projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Technical expertise in light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and initiative in all interactions.
  • Additional ASE or manufacturer certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with diesel, CNG, and alternative fuel vehicles is beneficial.
  • Must possess a CDL class B with passenger and airbrake endorsements.
