Job Description

**Temporary Part-Time Faculty Position: EOPS Counselor**

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced counselor to join our team as a temporary part-time faculty member in the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) department at Irvine Valley College. As an EOPS counselor, you will play a critical role in supporting students from diverse backgrounds and helping them achieve their academic and career goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach counseling courses in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
  • Prepare and provide students with course outlines, materials, and lectures that support learning objectives.
  • Assess student performance and maintain grade records.
  • Report assessment data on student learning outcomes and administrative unit outcomes.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas and follow college and district policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development.
  • At least two years of occupational experience in work relating to ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language, social, or economic disadvantages.
  • Commitment to equity and diversity, with demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
