About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Services Field Technician to join our team at Republic Services. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing emergency response and hazardous and non-hazardous spill clean-up and Hazmat Decon work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily work involving confined space entry, such as manholes, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping and shoveling, high pressure washing and various other remedial activities.
  • Operate light and heavy equipment relating to clean-up, including rolloff truck, vacuum truck, box trucks, skid steer, forklift, pumps and pallet-jack.
  • Respond to customer spills and emergencies during normal business hours and after hours.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip Department of Transportation inspections.
  • Maintain vehicle logs.
  • Perform general housekeeping, including maintenance of equipment and site.
Requirements
  • Ability to use heavy and light equipment, such as forklift, and pallet-jack.
  • Skilled using hand and shop tools, and instruments.
  • Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail. Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.
  • A valid driver's license may be required for some positions. Current 40-hour HAZWOPER Training.
