Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities as an Education Coordinator will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to Early Education, including Head Start Performance Standards and NAEYC Accreditation
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
  • Providing daily leadership and mentoring in the classroom, guiding the work of other educators and working cooperatively with managers, consultants, and other assigned staff and volunteers
  • Developing and implementing curriculum that meets both group and individual child needs, encouraging cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development, and ensuring that school readiness goals are being met
  • Completing health/developmental screenings and other child and program assessments as required, and maintaining required records including observational, behavioral, attendance, and other required reports and progress notes
  • Maintaining effective ongoing communication with parents, Family Service Workers, and other parties involved in the child's life, including conducting home visits, parent/teacher conferences, and case management meetings
  • Ensuring sight and sound supervision and monitoring of children at all times
  • Encouraging parents to become engaged in the program, involved in the decision-making process through participation on the Policy Council, Parent center Committee, classroom activities, and training opportunities
  • Seeking professional skill development and growth for themselves and others through participation in related skills training and educational activities
  • Protecting the rights of children and families from abuse and neglect by working as a liaison between referred families and the Department of Children & Families
  • Upholding the values of CTI – Equity, Integrity, Compassion
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications

To be successful as an Education Coordinator, you will need:

  • A minimum of an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • 3 years of teaching experience preferred, with a focus on working with low-income individuals or families
  • 1+ year of experience working in a similar role, preferably in a preschool setting
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient computer skills in basic computer software and data collection systems
  • Good attention to detail and excellent crisis management skills
  • Bilingual skills a plus, with proficiency in both spoken and written English
