Position:
CHILDCARE PROGRAM COORDINATOR - COURT CARE DROP-IN CHILDCARE CENTERS

Overview: This role encompasses significant responsibilities for program execution, strategic planning, implementation, compliance assurance, and the integration of essential services while maintaining YWCA standards across various drop-off childcare facilities within our Court Care Program. The Childcare Program Coordinator offers guidance and technical support to site supervisors, ensuring the comprehensive application of the program across all court care locations, which cater to children aged 6 months to 12 years. Responsibilities include maintaining the learning environment, providing counseling and technical support for virtual court hearings, and facilitating age-appropriate activities and resources.


Accountable for fostering a welcoming and secure atmosphere for children, while delivering age-appropriate activities during their stay and conducting suitable virtual engagements for children, alongside offering counseling and technical assistance to parents to prepare them for their virtual hearings.



Key Responsibilities:
Includes but is not limited to:

Providing training and technical assistance to site managers and staff.

Training covers:

the use of virtual platforms, various technology and communication systems, virtual programming activities, record-keeping, reporting, program policies, and age-appropriate activities for children aged 6 months to 12 years.

Ensuring adherence to all YWCA South Florida policies, program protocols, and high-quality standards.

Overseeing all personnel and trainees assigned to court care sites, including arranging substitutes as necessary.


Managing the accuracy and timeliness of reporting, including timesheets, sign-in/out logs, attendance, and monthly program reporting for grant purposes.

Establishing an effective record-keeping and reporting system.

Monitoring the annual budget and ensuring the conservation of materials to maintain expenditures within budgetary limits.

Ensuring the physical care and nurturing of children, while providing a safe and engaging environment with age-appropriate activities.

Fostering positive relationships with sponsoring sites, personnel, parents, funders, and partner agencies.

Participating in YWCA in-house training and professional development opportunities.

Conducting site or virtual evaluations to assess program compliance and quality.

Traveling to multiple sites for business purposes as required.


Responsible for referring participants to various sites for virtual pre-court hearing counseling and technical assistance, as well as coordinating virtual and on-site activities with site managers.

Providing resources and referrals to families as necessary.

Ensuring the implementation, compliance, and adherence to YWCA standards across multiple drop-off childcare locations and the virtual assistance program.


Ensuring timely submission of all monthly reports to the Director of Education.

Arranging and maintaining furniture and materials to encourage independent and group management.

Promoting positive self-image among children through active listening, encouragement, and the use of positive discipline techniques. Guiding children in managing their behavior through constructive approaches.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or a related field.

Three (3) to Four (4) years of experience working with children and families, including some supervisory experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of related experience and education. Administrative experience is also preferred.

Director's Credential or willingness to obtain within 12 months of employment.

High level of proficiency in computer and technology skills. Knowledge of technical platforms and virtual meeting facilitation is essential for success in this role.

Ability to communicate effectively with both children and adults; respond to common inquiries or concerns from children and/or their parents, regulatory agencies, or community members.

Ability to present information effectively. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Compensation:

$19.36 per hour
