Cognitive Care Manager

The primary role of the Memory Care Manager is to ensure exceptional care and experiences for residents dealing with health challenges and cognitive impairments due to aging, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other related conditions. This position reports directly to the Director of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster genuine relationships with residents and their families.
- Deliver care that is respectful and meets high-quality standards.
- Recognize and honor each resident's individuality, including their preferences, needs, and values.
- Communicate with residents using compassion, empathy, and validation.
- Assist residents with daily living activities tailored to their specific care plans, including mobility support, personal hygiene, dressing, dining, and engagement in activities.
- Participate actively in the daily operations of the Memory Care and/or Assisted Living Neighborhoods to guarantee quality care and services. This includes fulfilling neighborhood-specific responsibilities related to housekeeping, maintenance, dining practices, wellness support, and community relations.
Perform light housekeeping tasks such as making beds, keeping living spaces tidy, and managing waste disposal.
Contribute to a positive, inspired, and engaged atmosphere for all community members, including residents, families, team members, and visiting professionals.
Report any changes in resident conditions or unusual incidents to the appropriate department directors promptly.
Effectively communicate any challenges that may affect the quality of care and services to the relevant department directors.
Adhere to all community and departmental policies and procedures established by Oars Senior Living Inc.
Engage in positive practices and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding resident care and services.
Complete all mandatory training requirements set forth by Oars Senior Living Inc. and Community Care Licensing.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- CNA certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to provide necessary care and supervision for a designated group of residents during shifts.
- Capability to complete assigned tasks effectively.
- General understanding of the aging process, Alzheimer's/dementia care, and basic experience in assisting with daily living activities is preferred.
- Experience in managing behaviors associated with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other memory impairments is advantageous.
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics for safe resident assistance is required; experience with mechanical lifts is a plus.
- Able to prioritize tasks and multitask efficiently throughout shifts.
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills, along with effective communication abilities to fulfill daily responsibilities.
