SGI Global, LLC is in search of a dedicated Civil Rights Compliance Investigator to assist the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) for the District of Minnesota. This role is pivotal in aiding the government in the examination of civil rights matters, necessitating specialized knowledge of relevant processes and procedures.
Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities:The USAO undertakes investigations and compliance assessments under various civil rights laws. The Civil Rights Compliance Investigator will support the USAO DMN's Civil Rights Enforcement Program by performing a range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Conducting witness interviews and preparing detailed reports.
- Assisting with intake procedures, including interviewing witnesses and conducting preliminary research on potential investigation targets.
- Drafting essential documents, such as information requests directed at investigation targets.
- Reviewing and analyzing documents submitted by investigation targets.
- Researching ownership details of entities under scrutiny.
- Identifying and maintaining contact with witnesses and potential victims of discrimination throughout the investigation process.
- Assisting in the selection of targets for compliance reviews under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Evaluating survey outcomes related to ADA compliance reviews.
- Supporting litigation efforts, including assisting with depositions and providing testimony during trials.
- Participating in site evaluations.
- Reviewing compliance measures taken by respondents in settlement agreements, including analyzing compliance reports and interviewing witnesses.
- Contributing to community outreach and engagement initiatives.
- Performing additional tasks that bolster the Civil Rights Enforcement Program.
- Producing a variety of written materials using diverse office software applications, ensuring accuracy in format, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint, and other databases, including Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Strong communication skills are essential; the applicant must interact professionally and effectively with all organizational levels.
- Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate as a team player in a professional environment.
- Skilled in engaging with individuals in a courteous and tactful manner.
- Competent in reviewing a wide array of documents, both legal and non-legal, including motions and briefs.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of undergoing the necessary background investigation.
