Position Purpose:
We are looking for an Ingredient Solutions Associate Formulator focused on Premix and Applications to provide exceptional service to our global clientele. This role involves prompt and precise responses for Premix formula requests, sample creation, documentation, and other requirements that enhance speed to market and differentiation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams daily to ensure high-quality product outcomes while surpassing customer expectations. Adherence to our internal product lifecycle processes, as well as cGMP and GLP standards, is essential. The ideal candidate will possess experience in R&D, product development, and technical roles within manufacturing, regulatory, applications, formulations, information technologies, product lifecycle management, and/or distribution supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all safety policies and company procedures.
  • Comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Engage directly in Ingredient Solutions and Premix projects to deliver timely responses for requested premix formulas and samples.
  • Hands-on development of Premix formulas and samples for Off the Shelf (OTS) products and customer inquiries, ensuring rapid turnaround.
  • Create applications for premix products, including Ready to Mix powder blends, Gummies, Nutritional Bars, etc.
  • Manage and maintain organized storage of Premix documentation, blends, and raw materials.
  • Proactively develop formulas, samples, and documentation for finished products in our OTS and applications portfolio.
  • Accurately calculate costs and provide pricing to the sales team for premixes.
  • Collaborate with co-manufacturing partners to execute premix samples and projects.
  • Familiarity with development and commercialization processes.
  • Provide professional and timely responses to internal and external customer inquiries.
  • Proactively communicate expected turnaround times or potential delays with the sales team and/or customers.
  • Continuously evaluate documentation processes and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Coordinate with the Ingredients Solutions Team at our headquarters regarding raw material samples and documentation accuracy.
  • Work with the Procurement Team on new raw material sourcing requests and maintain documentation.
  • Automate documentation requests for Premix and applications development projects.
  • Collaborate with the co-manufacturing network to provide necessary documentation and project scopes.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure timely and accurate updates on task completion or challenges.

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS Degree; MS preferred.
  • 2-6 years of professional experience in food, dietary supplements regulatory, and/or product development roles.
  • Technical knowledge of Premix processes and their applications.
  • Understanding of FDA Food and Supplement regulations, cGMP, and GLP standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Proficient in software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe, etc.; experience with Sage ERP, Sugar CRM, Box, PLM Software, and Survey Monkey is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work towards shared objectives.
  • Strong problem prevention and problem-solving skills for efficient task completion.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently.
  • Passionate about driving efficiency and systemization.
  • Experience in Laboratory, Regulatory, Product Development, and/or R&D is essential.
  • Strong critical thinking skills for continuous improvement.
  • Self-motivated and driven.

Work Environment:
  • Regular business hours, with potential evening, weekend, and holiday work to meet deadlines or respond to customer needs.
  • Fast-paced environment with pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Possible exposure to noise and dust.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of up to 30 lbs.
