Job Purpose:

We are seeking an Ingredient Solutions Associate Formulator for Premix and Applications to ensure we deliver best in class service to our global customers via accurate and quick response for Premix paper formulas and costing, Premix sample creation, documentation and other needs required for speed to market advantages and point of difference. As part of our team, you will accomplish this by working with cross functional teams on a daily basis to ensure high quality product deliverables while exceeding customer expectations. You will follow our internal product life-cyle process flows and system, as well as cGMP and GLP standards. Our ideal applicant has past experience in R&D, product development and technical roles in manufacturing, regulatory, applications, formulations, information technologies, product life-cyle management and/or distribution supply chain operations, project management or related fields.


Primary Role and Key Functions (100%):

  • Understand and follow all safety policies, company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
  • Work directly on Ingredients Solutions and Premix projects to efficiently and accurately provide global customers (external and internal) with speed to market response times for requested premix formulas and samples.
  • Hands-on creating Premix formulas and samples for OTS (Off the Shelf) products and customer requests. Rapid turn around time for formulas and samples.
  • Hand-on creating applications for premix, e.g. Ready to Mix powder blends, Gummies, Nutritional Bars, etc.
  • Create, manage, distribute and maintain orderly storage of Premix documentation, blends and raw materials identified in premix portfolio.
  • Proactively create formulas, samples and documentation for finished products for our “Off the Shelf” and applications portfolio that are customer and sales facing.
  • Ability to accurately cost and provide pricing to sales team for premixes.
  • Work directly with our co-manufacturing partners to execute of premix samples and projects.
  • Experience with development and commercialization processes.
  • Provide front facing professional and timely responses for any internal and external customers’ requests.
  • Engage proactively with sales team and/or customer on expected turnaround time or foreseeable delays.
  • Continually assess document processes and make process improvement recommendations as needed.
  • Interact directly with SF headquarters in China (Ingredients Solutions Team) on the request of raw material samples and documentation. Review documentation for accuracy.
  • Work directly with Procurement Team of new raw material sourcing requests and samples, archive pricing and documentation portfolio.
  • Create and automate documentation requests for Premix and applications development projects.
  • Interact directly with co-manufacturing network to provide documentation, project scope and deliverables. Coordinate customer documentation and sample requirements.
  • Work closely with Project Manager and system to provide timely and accurate information on task completion or roadblocks.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree. MS Preferred
  • 2-6 years professional experience in food, dietary supplements regulatory and/or product development position.
  • Technical understanding of Premix processes and interactions and applications where premixes are used.
  • Familiarity with FDA Food and Supplement regulations, cGMP and GLP standards.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Computer software proficiency such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Adobe, etc. Experience with Sage ERP, Sugar CRM, Box, PLM Software, Monday.com, Survey Monkey a plus.

  • Laboratory, Regulatory, Product Development and/or R&D experience a must
  • Strong critical thinking abilities for continuous improvement.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Regular business hours, although may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines or to respond to customer requests.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and be under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • May be exposed to noise and dust.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30lbs.
