Batching Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Batching Technician to join our team at Refresco. As a key member of our production operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of our beverages.

• Batch syrup using correct formulation and mixing instructions to comply with quality specifications.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, food security, quality, GMP's, HACCP, allergen/sensitizer regulations, and other relevant standards.
• Communicate and duplicate safety and good manufacturing practices in accordance with company policy and other company policies.
• Obtain forklift certification and transport ingredients and pre-weigh by forklift from staging area to batching area.
• Hook up hoses, pumps, and lines for bulk concentrate or juice and transfer from the proper silo storage tank.
• Maintain, build, and start up filters and open drums.
• Program touch screen for product delivery from silo room to batch tanks.
• Follow instructions on batching sheets, add the proper ingredients, and record amounts correctly.
• Count concentrates and raw materials as required.
• Obtain batch tank samples to the quality laboratory for testing and follow instructions from the quality department on any batch adjustments necessary to bring product into specification.
• Complete all required documentation for batching operations and forward to quality control/batching department for review.
• Maintain sanitation and cleaning of the blending/sugar rooms throughout the shift.
• Responsible for CIP sanitation of all batching lines, tanks, and equipment.
• Remove empty barrels and bins from batching area to outside storage area and trailers.
• Receive and unload tankers of bulk concentrates as needed.

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Experience in a fast-moving packaged goods environment, beverage production experience preferred.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Formal training in areas such as WHIMIS, HACCP, Hygiene, etc. preferred.
• Ability to learn blending procedures and perform minor adjustments on blending equipment.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written work-related instructions.
• Able to perform duties within a high stress/pressure environment.
• Have a sound general knowledge of mathematical skills, e.g., measurements/formulas.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written (English).
• Solid comprehension of production schedules and laboratory testing.
• Understand quality improvement, increase efficiencies, improve yields, and eliminate out of specification or damaged product.
• Attention to detail required.

• Physical: Continuously standing or walking. Regular requirements to lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight.
• Must be able to continuously stand and/or walk for extended periods of time on concrete surface. Ability to repeatedly kneel, bend, crouch, climb, and/or stoop throughout the shift as needed to successfully perform job duties.
• Visual/Sensory: This position requires regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time.
• Work environment: Work and environment are very repetitive.
• Mental Stress: There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy, or similar demands.
