About the Position

The City of Long Beach is seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to fill the role of Administrative Intern in the Community Development Department. This position will provide support to the Housing and Neighborhood Services Bureau, assisting with community engagement, social media, and marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the bureau with community engagement, social media, and digital marketing initiatives.
  • Help develop and collect data for community surveys and reports.
  • Compile and analyze data for federal, state, and county funding sources.
  • Prepare and coordinate technical services requests and fulfillments.
  • Respond to program information requests via phone and email.
  • Assist with the development, planning, and facilitation of special events.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program with a major in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program with a major as described above from an accredited college or university with a GPA of 2.0 or higher within one year of application submission.
  • A valid California Class C driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on social media campaigns, designing websites, and/or marketing materials.
  • Ability to promote programs creatively and establish effective working relationships with diverse audiences.
