Job Summary:The Public Health Advisor will provide direct clinic services to people seeking sexual health care, monitor disease trends, provide education and training to providers and community groups, conduct research and develop policies to improve sexual health and wellness.
Responsibilities:- Greet patients seeking sexual health clinic services
- Order and process specimens correctly and in a timely fashion
- Provide intake services to discern what services the patient is seeking and inform them of the expected flow while at the clinic
- Register patients into our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Assure that the rooms are cleaned and sanitized in preparation for the next patient
- Order medications and supplies needed for the daily function of the clinic
- Assure that each clinician room has the proper and sufficient supplies and medications to examine patients effectively
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twelve semester credits in health education, or in health, social or biological sciences
- Or a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and six months of full-time satisfactory experience in a health promotion or disease intervention/prevention program
- Or a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and four years of full-time satisfactory experience as described above
- To be assigned to Assignment Level II, candidates must have at least one year of experience as a Public Health Adviser, Assignment Level I, or at least one additional year of experience as described above
