Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations for the sponsored programs administration auxiliary.
- Supervise the accounting and reporting team, including conducting performance reviews and fostering professional growth.
- Analyze complex accounting transactions to ensure compliance with established policies.
- Monitor fiscal services related to the sponsored programs administration auxiliary.
- Review financial statements, manage billing processes, and reconcile bank accounts.
- Prepare fluctuation analyses and audit schedules.
- Assist in generating various reports tailored to stakeholder requirements.
- Provide training for staff on federal regulations and university policies.
- Ensure timely submission of reports and maintain necessary databases.
- Oversee annual audits and tax preparations.
- Implement updates to policies and clarify procedural interpretations.
- Collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Familiarity with GAAP, FASB, and GASB standards.
- Experience in preparing financial statements and establishing internal controls.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team, communicate effectively, and uphold confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- Proficient in relevant computer applications and university systems.
- CPA certification.
- Master's degree in business, accounting, or finance.
- Experience in grant accounting and compliance.
- Knowledge of the PeopleSoft accounting system.
