Commercial Roofing Service Sales / Estimator
Position Overview:
Forge new connections to market lucrative preventive roof maintenance contracts, restoration coating solutions, and corrective roofing repairs for commercial, industrial, and governmental structures. Ensure all inspections and proposal opportunities are accurately maintained in the CRM system and addressed promptly.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • To excel in this role, an individual must effectively perform each essential duty as outlined. The following requirements represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Proven experience in successfully marketing profitable commercial roofing service contracts and/or restoration coating solutions.
  • Ability to identify issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficient in crafting impactful reports, proposals, and business correspondence.
  • Capable of effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from employees, management, and clients.
  • Able to engage with a diverse client/customer base.
  • Participate in site evaluations and prepare take-offs by measuring and noting all variables of the roofing site, which may necessitate multiple visits.
  • Proficient in various computer software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Familiarity with office administrative processes and operation of standard office equipment.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable estimating experience specific to commercial roofing, ideally with a focus on service and/or coating restoration.
  • All candidates must demonstrate fluency in Microsoft Office suite software.
  • Candidates will be required to showcase their skills and will undergo testing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strong ability to analyze roofs, blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare material quotes, labor requirements, project pricing, and bid abstracts. Create detailed lists and summaries.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturer product warranties.
  • Maintain positive relationships with property and facilities managers, general contractors, and manufacturer representatives.
  • Calculate cost factors and prepare estimates for management purposes, including planning, organizing, scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors/subcontractors, and assessing cost-effectiveness.
  • Consult with subcontractors, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Purchasing, and Management as necessary in the preparation and final evaluation of bids.
  • Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database and formalize processes to support cost estimating, ensuring historical data is utilized.
  • Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvements.
  • Estimate prices for change orders on existing contracts.
  • Attend pre-construction and bid/pre-qualification meetings.
