Commercial Roofing Estimation Specialist
Position Overview:
As a key player in our team, you will devise and execute strategies for promoting preventive roof maintenance, restoration coating systems, and new roof installations on commercial and industrial properties. Your efforts will be crucial in achieving the sales and profitability objectives of Progressive Roofing.
Provide regular updates to leadership regarding progress towards maximizing profitability and growth, aligning with the company's vision and core values.
Your focus will be on cultivating exceptional customer relationships and ensuring long-term engagement with both new and existing clients.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:
  • Proficient in various computer software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Understanding of office administrative procedures and operation of standard office equipment.
  • Ability to compose effective reports, proposals, and business correspondence.
  • Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate with employees, management, and clients.
  • Capability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Willingness to travel and engage with a diverse client base.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements, which may necessitate multiple trips to the project location.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in estimating within the commercial roofing sector, particularly in service and coating projects.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite is essential.
  • Demonstrated skills will be assessed during the selection process.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Thoroughly analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare accurate material quotes, labor requirements, project pricing, and bid summaries.
  • Calculate cost factors and prepare estimates for management purposes, including planning, organizing, scheduling work, preparing bids, and vendor selection.
  • Engage with subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss estimates and resolve any issues.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Purchasing, and Management in the preparation and evaluation of bids.
  • Establish and maintain a centralized cost estimating database to support accurate historical data utilization.
  • Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
  • Comprehend manufacturer product warranties thoroughly.
  • Estimate costs for change orders on existing contracts.
  • Participate in pre-construction and bid/pre-qualification meetings.
  • Ability to work from blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Maintain positive relationships with property managers, general contractors, and manufacturer representatives.
