Financial Director with Luxury Hospitality Expertise

OverviewThis role supervises and directs financial activities, safeguarding assets and preparing reports according to generally accepted accounting principles and HEI Hotels and Resorts Standards.
Responsibilities- Perform special financial analysis and provide practical solutions from a cost-benefit viewpoint, offering accurate policy interpretations.
- Participate in Executive Committee and staff meetings, assisting other managers in analyzing statements, distributions, and financial data.
- Support and comply with property standards and Corporate SOPs.
Maintain effective cash control systems with audits and reports for each period, reviewing security over assets and auditing inventories.
Understand pertinent leases, contracts, agreements, covenants, and restrictions, as well as City, County, State sales tax laws and innkeeper, liquor, and labor laws.
Budget PreparationSchedule and coordinate annual operating budget preparation, coordinating all aspects of capital expenditures budgets according to SOP.
Capital Expenditure ControlControl the Capital Expenditure program and complete ROI Analysis.
Accounts Receivable ManagementMaintain standards for 60-90 day accounts, conforming to standards regarding average collection periods. Document local credit policies and audit property compliance.
Approve major accounts for credit as defined by local policy, conduct credit and write-off meetings as requested, and submit accurate and timely critiques and credit loss reports.
Communication and ReportingComplete required financial reports and requests from HEI Corporate offices, establishing other reports or documents as needed.
Reconcile account balances on a current basis, establishing balances in accruals, pre-paid, and other accounts using proper accrual methods and expense realization logic.
Leadership and ManagementMaintain and update job descriptions and standards for the department, complying with corporate and local policies for wages paid (increases and timing).
Establish an effective cross-training program within the department, identifying, screening, and attracting management candidates from outside the company.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Hotel Management
- Minimum 3 years of experience in hotel or hospitality-related finance and accounting
- Analytical approach to problems, attention to detail, and accuracy
- Assertive personality, professional demeanor, and effective verbal and written communication skills
HEI Hotels and Resorts offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include comprehensive medical plans, free employee meals, discounted public transportation, associate outings, pet insurance, and a 401(k) Savings Plan with matching funds.
