Join Go METRO as a Transportation Service Operator

Compensation: The starting wage for Transportation Service Operators is $17.89 per hour, with potential increases based on hours worked, reaching a maximum rate of $25.56 per hour. New hires may also qualify for a $2000 signing bonus, subject to applicable taxes, distributed in two payments. Go METRO is looking for dedicated Transportation Service Operators to ensure safe, dependable, and efficient transport for our customers with disabilities. A Commercial Driver's License is not required for this position. Ideal candidates will possess strong multitasking abilities, operate our vehicles, collect fares, drive defensively, and deliver outstanding customer service to our passengers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive passenger vehicles on demand as per schedule.
  • Conduct pre and post-trip inspections to identify and report safety or maintenance issues.
  • Adhere to safe driving practices at all times.
  • Operate wheelchair and scooter lifts as necessary; ensure proper securing of mobility aids.
  • Respond to passenger inquiries and requests, providing accurate information and managing any unruly behavior.
  • Document and record essential trip details as required.
  • Assist passengers with disabilities in boarding and disembarking the vehicle.
  • Collect fare media, cash, and/or assist with electronic fare systems.
  • Report mechanical issues, accidents, road hazards, or any injuries to dispatch, supervisors, or maintenance staff.
  • Utilize a two-way radio as necessary.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings and ongoing training sessions.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Must be at least 21 years old at the time of hire
  • Experience operating large vehicles is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Customer service experience is preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred, but not required

  • Less than 4 points on driving record
  • No driver's license suspensions in the past 7 years
  • Must pass background check, Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination, and drug/alcohol testing
  • Must successfully complete Customer Service and Safety assessments
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
