Dynacraft, a subsidiary of PACCAR, is located in McKinney, TX. This division is a diversified global manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty truck components marketed under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF brands. For over fifty years, Dynacraft has supplied high-quality parts, subassemblies, and specialized services to PACCAR's truck divisions and parts division, with production facilities strategically positioned in multiple locations.

Position Summary

Dynacraft is seeking a Quality Engineer to support its operations. Reporting to the Division Quality Manager, this role serves as the primary resource within the plant to ensure adherence to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for product launches and compliance with all Dynacraft and PACCAR standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a Quality Liaison with clients concerning quality issues related to truck components.
  • Conduct investigations and perform Root Cause Analysis for identified quality concerns.
  • Engage in engineering design reviews for new products and processes.
  • Execute dimensional inspections of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sample components.
  • Offer technical guidance and training to both customers and internal teams regarding PPAP, quality, and assembly standards.
  • Lead and assist in foundational APQP documentation, including feasibility reviews, production control plans, PFMEA, and safe launch plans.
  • Establish and maintain PPAP files and documentation in alignment with PACCAR guidelines.
  • Conduct Statistical Process Control and Capability Studies for both new and existing products.
  • Provide analytical support to Dynacraft process owners concerning product and process quality challenges.
  • Identify and promote improvement initiatives based on customer and internal feedback to address quality and production issues.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A minimum of three years of experience in automotive electrical systems at an OEM or Tier One supplier.
  • Knowledge and experience with High Voltage Cable and Battery Electric Vehicles.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000/9001/14000/14001, TS16949, or QS 9000 Quality Management Systems.
  • Understanding of APQP and other quality management tools (PFMEA, Control Plans).
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply GD&T, engineering drawings, and specifications to part and process requirements.
  • Proficient in PC-based applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Minitab or similar statistical software.
  • Demonstrated capability to facilitate team efforts and work independently.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
